Srinagar, Dec 19 :

A man was detained at Srinagar International Airport on Friday after he was found travelling on a fake air ticket, officials said.

An official told news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, the incident occurred at early in the morning at the drop gate of the airport, where the individual was intercepted while travelling from Srinagar to Delhi. During verification, the ticket was found to be fake.

On further questioning, the passenger confessed that the ticket was forged. Following this, he was taken into custody along with his mobile phone. A vehicle bearing registration number JK-04A-9887 (Tata Sumo), along with his associates, was also seized.

The detained individual and the seized items were handed over to Police Post Humhama for further investigation. Authorities have initiated legal proceedings to ascertain the source of the fake ticket and the involvement of others in the matter. (KNC)
