Srinagar, Dec 30 :
The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has constituted a fact-finding committee to inquire into allegations of illegal promotion in the Public Works (R&B) Department, according to an official order issued by the Civil Secretariat.
As per Government Order accessed by the news agency Kashmir News Trust, the committee has been tasked with examining allegations related to the promotion of Sh. Waqar Ahmed, presently working as In-Assistance Engineer in the Public Works (R&B) Division, Thanamandi
The committee will be headed by the Additional Secretary to the Government, Public Works (R&B) Department, who will act as Chairman. Other members include the Superintending Engineer, Public Works (R&B) Circle Rajouri, the Deputy Secretary to the Government, Public Works (R&B) Department from the HRM Division, and the Under Secretary to the Government, Public Works (R&B) Department from the HRM Division.
According to the order, the committee has been directed to examine all records relating to the matter, including complaints received in the department and the rules governing the subject. The panel has been asked to submit its report within a period of fifteen days from the date of issuance of the order.
The government order further clarifies that any modification in the posting of the committee members shall not debar them from performing their assigned duties in terms of the said order.
The order has been issued by Anil Kumar Singh, IAS, Principal Secretary to the Government, Public Works (R&B) Department. Copies of the order have been forwarded to senior officials including the Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, Chief Engineer R&B Zone Pir Panjal, and other concerned authorities for information and necessary action.[KNT]
