The Union Ministry of Home Affairs on Thursday approved the appointment of four senior IPS officers as Additional Directors General (ADGs) in different Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) against existing vacancies.
According to an Office Memorandum issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, Shri Anand Pratap Singh, IPS (HP:1997), currently serving as Inspector General in the Border Security Force (BSF), has been appointed as Additional Director General, BSF, in Level-15 of the Pay Matrix. His deputation tenure will be counted with effect from December 28, 2023.
Similarly, Shri Sumit Sharan, IPS (TN:1997), also serving as Inspector General in the BSF, has been appointed as Additional Director General, BSF. His deputation tenure will be counted from January 15, 2022.
The memorandum further states that Shri Ashish Batra, IPS (JH:1997), Inspector General in the National Investigation Agency (NIA), has been appointed as Additional Director General, NIA, with his deputation tenure counting from September 17, 2019.
In another appointment, Shri Sanjay Kumar Gunjyal, IPS (UK:1997), Inspector General in the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), has been appointed as Additional Director General, ITBP, with deputation tenure counting from April 18, 2022.
The appointments have been approved by the competent authority, and the combined deputation tenure of all officers will be governed under the provisions of Para 5.1 (iii) of the IPS Tenure Policy, the memorandum added. —(KNC).
