Baramulla, Jan 26:Arshid Farooq, Bureau Chief of KINS News Agency, was conferred with the Best Journalist Award during the Republic Day celebrations in Baramulla in recognition of his exemplary contribution to journalism, particularly his impactful coverage of Operation Sindoorand consistent reporting on key developmental initiatives across the district.

The award was presented at the official Republic Day function organised by the District Administration Baramulla. The honour was conferred by Minister for Agriculture, Javaid Ahmad Dar, in the presence of senior civil and police officers, public representatives and a large gathering of citizens.In another Republic Day honour, Ishfaq Ahmad Bhat, President of Save Youth Save Future NGO, was felicitated for his exemplary leadership and outstanding contribution to youth empowerment, recognising his sustained efforts in guiding young people towards education, social responsibility and constructive engagement.

“It was a distinct honour to be felicitated on Republic Day at District Police Lines, Baramulla, by Hon’ble Minister Shri Javaid Ahmed Dar, in the esteemed presence of Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Shri Minga Sherpa and SSP Baramulla Shri Gurindarpal Singh,” said Ishfaq Ahmad Bhat.

He added that this recognition strengthens my resolve, and that of Save Youth Save Future Foundation, to continue striving in service of our people with sincerity, responsibility, and dedication.

District officials lauded the awardees for their dedication and service to society, stating that their respective contributions have significantly strengthened public awareness, social development and community engagement in the district.

Expressing gratitude, Farooq dedicated the award to the journalistic fraternity and reaffirmed his commitment to unbiased, people-centric and ethical journalism. He said the recognition would further inspire him to continue serving society with dedication and professionalism.

The recognition added significance to the Republic Day celebrations in Baramulla, underscoring the crucial role of media and civil society in strengthening democratic values and nation-building.
