As per news agency Kashmir News Corner (KNC), the Home Minister arrived in Jammu on Thursday evening. During his visit, Shah reviewed the overall security scenario and ongoing counter-terrorism measures in the region along with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Lok Bhawan, where senior police and administrative officials were present.

Earlier in the day, the Union Home Minister visited the Gurnam and Bobiya Border Outposts (BOPs) in the Hiranagar sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

At Bobiya BOP, he paid homage to the fallen soldiers at the ‘Ajay Prahari’ memorial and interacted with Border Security Force (BSF) personnel deployed along the International Border.

Addressing BSF jawans at Bobiya BOP, as per KNC, Amit Shah said that along the Jammu and Kashmir frontier, 118 border posts and three terrorist launch pads were destroyed, and several gallantry medals and commendation certificates were awarded during this period.

He lauded the BSF for its valour and dedication, stating that the force has consistently upheld the highest standards of duty across the country, including in Manipur, the northeastern states, and Maoist-affected regions of Odisha and Chhattisgarh.

“You have inspired people across the country. Wherever the BSF is deployed, it has hoisted the flag of bravery and commitment,” Shah said, adding that visits to border outposts always offer him lessons in the spirit and performance of duty.

The Union Home Minister further said that public appreciation for border guards reflects the nation’s deep respect for their courage, sacrifice, and relentless service under challenging conditions.
