The Director General of Police J&K, Nalin Prabhat (IPS), on Saturday conducted a detailed review of the security landscape, counter-terrorism operations and overall law & order situation in District Pulwama during a high-level meeting held here.
The meeting was attended by Special DG Coordination PHQ J&K S. J. M. Gillani (IPS), IGP Kashmir Zone V. K. Birdi (IPS) and DIG South Kashmir Range Javid Iqbal Matoo (IPS). The session was held at the District Police Office Pulwama and was also attended by SSP Pulwama Ms Tanushree (IPS) along with other supervisory officers.
During the meeting, the DGP reviewed the prevailing security scenario in the district with particular focus on the progress of counter-terror (CT) operations, including both kinetic and non-kinetic measures. He also assessed the overall law & order management and security preparedness across the district.
Interacting with the officers, the DGP underscored the importance of maintaining sustained pressure on anti-national elements and directed the officers to remain vigilant while ensuring strict action against individuals involved in unlawful activities. He stressed the need for enhanced intelligence gathering, close coordination among field units and proactive policing to effectively tackle emerging security challenges.
The DGP also appreciated the dedication and efforts of officers and personnel deployed in the district and encouraged them to continue working with professionalism, vigilance and commitment to maintain peace, public safety and stability in Pulwama.(KNC)
