Thousands Offer Night-long Prayers at Hazratbal, Other Shrines; Arrangements Put in Place

The sacred night of Shab-e-Qadr was observed with profound religious devotion across Kashmir as thousands of devotees thronged the Hazratbal Shrine and other mosques and shrines to participate in special night-long prayers.
Reports reaching news agency Kashmir News Corner (KNC) said large gatherings of worshippers, including men, women, elderly and children, assembled at the revered Hazratbal Shrine on the banks of Dal Lake, where they spent the night offering prayers and seeking blessings for peace, prosperity and wellbeing.
Similar scenes were witnessed at mosques and shrines across various districts of the Valley, where devotees engaged in recitation of the Holy Quran, Nawafil prayers and religious sermons, turning the night into a spiritual gathering of faith and devotion.
The religious places remained abuzz throughout the night as worshippers devoted themselves to prayers and remembrance of Almighty Allah, seeking forgiveness and praying for peace across the world, particularly for lasting peace and prosperity in Kashmir.
Meanwhile, the authorities had made necessary arrangements at major shrines and mosques to ensure smooth conduct of the prayers. Adequate security, traffic regulation, sanitation, lighting and medical facilities were put in place for the convenience of the devotees.
Religious scholars, while addressing gatherings, highlighted the significance of Shab-e-Qadr and urged people to follow the teachings of Islam and promote the values of peace, unity and compassion in society.
