Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that he had a telephonic conversation with US President Donald Trump, during which both leaders discussed the evolving situation in West Asia and the need for restoring peace and stability.

In a post on X, as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, Prime Minister Modi said the interaction involved a useful exchange of views, with India reiterating its support for de-escalation and early restoration of peace in the region.

He also emphasised the importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open, secure, and accessible, calling it vital for global trade and energy supplies.

Modi said both leaders agreed to remain in touch and continue consultations regarding ongoing efforts aimed at ensuring peace and stability in the region. (KNC)
