Baramulla, March 25:
In a precautionary move to safeguard public safety, the district administration in Baramulla has ordered the closure of the Eco Park bridge following concerns over its structural condition.
According to an official directive issued on March 25, 2026, the bridge will remain closed for all public movement until necessary repair and restoration work is completed. The decision comes amid apprehensions about the safety of commuters and visitors frequenting the popular Eco Park area.
Officials stated that the bridge will be reopened only after it is certified safe by the Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department (R&B). The administration has emphasized that no movement will be allowed until a formal safety clearance is issued.
The order, issued under reference DMB/PS/1320-23, also advises the public to strictly avoid the route and instead use alternative pathways during the repair period.
The closure has caused inconvenience to locals and visitors, as Eco Park remains a key recreational destination in north Kashmir. Residents have urged authorities to expedite the repair process to restore normal access at the earliest.
