Warns Against ‘Jungle Raj’, Urges Strict Action Over Ramban Incident
Anantnag, Apr 14 :
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday reiterated that the government will not allow any forces to undermine peace in the Union Territory.
Interacting with reporters in Bijbehara, as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, the Chief Minister said his government is committed to initiating a new era of stability and progress to ensure a peaceful atmosphere across Jammu and Kashmir.
He, however, expressed concern over attempts by certain elements to disturb harmony and push the region towards a “jungle raj.”
“There are elements who are uncomfortable with peace and instead want to incite communal tension and unrest. Let me make it clear that as long as we are in power, such designs will not be allowed to succeed,” he said.
The Chief Minister also urged Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to ensure stringent action against those involved in the Ramban killing and those who attempted to vitiate the situation.
He added that firm action in such cases would send a clear message that lawlessness and disorder will not be tolerated by the present government. (KNC)
