Stresses on coordination among stakeholders to curb Drug Menace
BARAMULLA, APRIL 21:

Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, S.F. Hamid, today chaired the 27th District Level Narco Coordination (NCORD) Committee meeting at Dak Bungalow to review measures taken by various departments and law enforcement agencies to combat drug abuse and trafficking in Baramulla.
At the outset, the DC conducted a comprehensive review of the actions taken based on the directives from the 26th meeting of the NCORD Committee, assessing the effectiveness of deterrence measures and the progress made towards eradicating drug abuse in the district.
During the meeting, the concerned implementing agencies were directed to expedite the installation of CCTV cameras in government middle schools to strengthen monitoring for safer, drug-free environment for students.
Meanwhile, the DC directed the Assistant Drug Controller to take strict action by sealing premises and initiating cancellation of licenses of druggists found involved in the sale of psychotropic drugs without valid prescriptions.
The DC further issued strict directions to the ARTO to take firm and immediate action against any vehicle owners found involved in drug trafficking, including the cancellation of their licenses as per the relevant legal provisions.
Reviewing the enforcement of directives under the newly launched 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir campaign, the DC called for a unified and result-oriented approach, directing all officers to ensure close coordination and collective efforts towards eliminating the drug menace from society.
The meeting was attended by the Senior Superintendent of Police Baramulla, Gurinderpal Singh, SSP Sopore, Iftkhar Talib, ADC Baramulla, Syed Altaf Hussain Musvi, ADC Sopore, S.A.Raina and other district and sectoral officers.
