Srinagar, May 13 :

In line with the ongoing austerity and fuel conservation measures being promoted across the country, Director General of Police Jammu and Kashmir Nalin Prabhat and IG Security J&K Sujit Kumar have scaled down their official convoys by half, official sources said on Tuesday.

The move comes amid growing emphasis on reducing unnecessary expenditure and promoting efficient use of government resources following the recent appeal by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for austerity and fuel-saving measures.

Sources said the decision has been implemented with immediate effect as part of efforts to streamline official movement while maintaining required security protocols.

Meanwhile, there has been no reduction in the security arrangement of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who continues to operate under the existing Yellow Book security protocol, sources added.(KNC)
