Srinagar November 23 :

The journalists of Kashmir on Tuesday organized a blood donation camp at Kashmir Press Club (KPC) in the memory of their colleagues who left for heavenly abode in the recent past in the Kashmir Valley.

One of the organizers told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that Kashmir journalists have jointly thought of organizing the blood donation camp in memory of their colleagues whom they lost in the past few years.

He said that in the past few years they have seen a surge in the death of young journalists due to cardiac arrests or other reasons. “The journalists have to work in hostile situations, so in order to remember our deceased colleagues and their contributions in the profession we organized this camp at press club today,” he said.

He said that a prayer (Dua-e-Majlis) was also organized to pray for the eternal peace to their deceased colleagues.

He said that the blood donation camp was also organized in their remembrance for the people as Kashmir is a seismic zone 5 in which more accidents happen and also because it is a conflict zone, so journalists donated their blood for the noble cause in order to give a tribute to their deceased colleagues.
