Srinagar, May 31 : Chief Minister and National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah has convened a crucial meeting of the National Conference Legislature Party on June 3 at his official residence in Gupkar, Srinagar, amid growing political activity in Jammu and Kashmir.

Sources told that the meeting is scheduled to commence at 10:00 AM and will be attended by all National Conference Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs). Formal invitations have already been issued to party legislators, urging them to participate in discussions on key public issues, governance-related matters and other subjects of collective importance.

According to party insiders, the meeting assumes significance in the backdrop of the prevailing political and administrative situation in the Union Territory. Deliberations are expected to focus on developmental priorities, public welfare concerns, governance challenges and the party’s legislative strategy in the coming months.

The meeting has also attracted political attention following remarks made by Omar Abdullah during a public gathering in Tangmarg on May 6, where he had indicated that certain important matters would be addressed in detail after Eid. At the time, the Chief Minister had stated that while he wished to speak openly on several issues, he had chosen to exercise restraint.

Political observers view the June 3 meeting as an important platform that may provide insights into the National Conference’s future course of action on various political and public issues confronting Jammu and Kashmir.

However, party sources maintained that the primary objective of the meeting is to review public grievances, assess governance-related concerns and strengthen coordination among legislators to ensure effective redressal of issues affecting the people.

Further details regarding the agenda and outcomes of the meeting are expected to emerge following the deliberations.
