Orders Immediate Restoration of Roads and Essential Services
Jammu, June 2:
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday reviewed the flash flood situation in Doda and Kishtwar districts following heavy rainfall and said that no loss of life or damage to property has been reported so far.
The Lieutenant Governor said he spoke with the Deputy Commissioners of both districts and directed the administration to remain on high alert while closely monitoring the evolving situation. He instructed the district authorities to ensure the swift restoration of affected roads, highways and water supply pipelines to minimize inconvenience to the public.
According to the LG, emergency response teams, field staff and specialized medical teams have been placed on high alert and are prepared to respond to any eventuality. He further said that a detailed assessment of damages, if any, will be undertaken once field verification is completed.
Expressing grief over the death of Pinki Devi of Khuddhar village in Doda district, who lost her life after being struck by lightning, the Lieutenant Governor conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family.
He also directed the Deputy Commissioner of Doda to provide immediate relief and all necessary assistance to the affected family.
The administration continues to monitor the weather conditions and has urged residents in vulnerable areas to remain cautious and follow advisories issued by the authorities.
