Srinagar, June 15th :

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday inaugurated a Free Breast Cancer Screening Seva programme at the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar, aimed at promoting early detection and awareness of breast cancer among women.

The initiative, launched by Airports Authority of India under its CSR programme in collaboration with India Turns Pink, will provide free screening, counselling and awareness services to women in ten villages of Srinagar district.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of early diagnosis and timely treatment in reducing breast cancer-related deaths and strengthening preventive healthcare among women.

The programme is expected to benefit around 10,000 women. Health Minister Sakina Itoo, Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani and other officials were present at the launch event.
