Directs States, UTs and Central Agencies to Ensure Flawless Conduct of Examination and Smooth Travel for Students
NEW DELHI, June 15:
The Union Home Secretary on Monday chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the preparedness of State Governments and Union Territories for the forthcoming NEET (UG) Re-Examination 2026, with a special emphasis on student convenience, security arrangements and maintaining the integrity of the examination process.
The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Railway Board, Secretary of the Department of School Education and Literacy, Secretary of the Department of Higher Education, Secretary of the Department of Posts, Director General of the National Testing Agency (NTA), Directors General of the CRPF, CISF and BCAS, besides senior officials from the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
During the meeting, the Union Home Secretary reviewed the security and logistical arrangements being put in place across the country to ensure the smooth and transparent conduct of the examination. He stressed the need for seamless coordination among all stakeholders to safeguard the credibility of the national-level entrance test.
The Home Secretary directed all State Governments, Union Territories and Central agencies to strictly adhere to the prescribed security protocols and ensure that the re-examination is conducted in a flawless and fair manner without any lapses.
He also urged States and UTs to facilitate hassle-free movement of candidates and extend all necessary support to students appearing in the examination. Special attention, he said, should be given to ensuring that students do not face difficulties in reaching their designated examination centres.
The Chairman of the Railway Board assured full cooperation and support in facilitating travel arrangements for candidates wherever required.
The review meeting underscored the Centre’s commitment to conducting the NEET (UG) Re-Examination 2026 in a secure, transparent and student-friendly environment while upholding the sanctity and integrity of the examination process.(KNC)
