Says Collective Action, Public Awareness Key to Protecting Youth from Drug Menace

Srinagar, June 26 :

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday called for a united and sustained campaign against drug abuse, urging every section of society to work collectively to safeguard the younger generation and build a drug-free Jammu and Kashmir.

Marking the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the Lieutenant Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the vision of “Nasha Mukt J&K”, stressing that the fight against narcotics requires active public participation, awareness and social responsibility.

According to a post shared by the Lieutenant Governor’s Office on X, the occasion serves as an opportunity to strengthen the collective resolve to eliminate the growing menace of substance abuse from society.

“On the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, let us reaffirm our commitment to protecting our youth and realizing the vision of a Nasha Mukt J&K. Through collective action, greater awareness and social responsibility, we can defeat this menace and build a healthier and brighter future for coming generations,” the Lieutenant Governor said.

He emphasized that protecting the youth from the dangers of drugs is a shared responsibility and called upon citizens, institutions and communities to join hands in creating a healthier, safer and drug-free society across Jammu and Kashmir. (KNC)
