Directs expedited completion of Bypass

BARAMULLA, JULY 16:

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr. S.F. Hamid, today inspected the Kanispora–Baramulla Bypass (Package-III) and National Highway drainage works at Kanispora.
Reviewing progress and quality of works, the DC directed the executing agency to expedite construction and ensure completion within the stipulated timeline, terming the bypass critical to traffic decongestion and connectivity.
At Kanispora, the DC inspected a choked drains causing overflow of rainwater/wastewater onto the highway, damaging the road surface and causing persistent waterlogging due to absence of a proper outlet. He directed concerned departments to clear the blocked drain and provide a proper water outlet on priority.
He also directed immediate removal of bottlenecks along roadside hardeners to ensure smooth traffic flow and unhindered drainage, with encroachment action to be taken as per rules.
The DC heard residents’ concerns on-site and assured time-bound redressal, reiterating the District Administration’s commitment to quality infrastructure.
The DC was accompanied by ADC Baramulla, Tehsidlar Baramulla and representatives of executive agencies.
