Independence Day message: LG pays tribute to freedom fighters, armed forces and citizens; says J&K firmly on path of rapid socio-economic growth

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, in his message on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, extended warm greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and paid homage to the leaders, freedom fighters and martyrs of India’s freedom struggle.
The Lieutenant Governor also expressed deep gratitude to the Armed Forces, paramilitary forces, J&K Police and other agencies for their role in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and integrity. He honoured the personnel who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
Felicitating farmers, workers, businesspersons, scientists, teachers, innovators, craftsmen, civil society groups, women and youth of Jammu and Kashmir, Sinha said their contributions had played a vital role in enhancing the stature of the Union Territory.
Emphasising the importance of national unity, he said the diversity of the country must be cherished while its unity and integrity should be protected at all costs.
The Lieutenant Governor said Jammu and Kashmir had firmly embarked on a path of rapid socio-economic growth and witnessed remarkable progress in recent years. He said the Union Territory had received a strong developmental impetus, with several mega projects nearing completion and key infrastructure initiatives progressing at a fast pace.
Sinha expressed confidence that the ongoing development would take Jammu and Kashmir to new heights of prosperity and ensure that the benefits of growth reached every part of the region.
Calling upon citizens to renew their commitment to collective progress, the Lieutenant Governor urged them to join hands in safeguarding peace and prosperity and in building a strong, self-reliant and developed Jammu and Kashmir.
He said the day was fast approaching when Jammu and Kashmir would emerge as one of the leading developed regions of the country and make a significant contribution to the vision of a developed India.
