Anantnag, August 22 :

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday conducted searches at multiple locations across Anantnag district as part of an ongoing investigation under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and other relevant laws, officials said.

The searches were carried out by NIA teams with the assistance of personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Jammu and Kashmir Police.

According to officials, an NIA team that arrived from Jammu conducted a search at the residential premises of Tassaduq Hussain Dar, son of Abdul Gani Dar, at Sadoora in Anantnag. Dar is reportedly detained under the Public Safety Act (PSA).

The agency also conducted searches at a residential premises in Kreeri Shahabad, Dooru, and at SICOP in Bijbehara, officials said.

The searches were reportedly linked to FIR No. RC/2026/02, registered under Section 23 of the UAPA, Sections 7/25 of the Arms Act, and Section 4 of the Explosives Act.

During the search at Dooru, the NIA team reportedly seized a Redmi 9A mobile phone for further examination as part of the ongoing investigation.

At SICOP Bijbehara, the search was conducted in coordination with local police and security personnel. Officials said the operations form part of the agency’s continuing probe.

The searches and investigation remain underway, and further details regarding additional recoveries or developments are awaited.(KNC)
