Initiative aims to support economically weaker families; speakers stress simplicity in marriages and collective social responsibility
BARAMULLA, SEPTEMBER 20:
Khidmat Foundation Baramulla on Sunday organised a Mass Marriage Assistance Programme at Jadeed Eidgah, Baramulla, distributing marriage assistance kits containing essential household items among 16 deserving girls from economically weaker families.
The initiative was aimed at providing practical and dignified support to families facing financial difficulties in arranging marriages. The Foundation said the programme reflected its continued commitment to humanitarian service and the welfare of vulnerable sections of society.
Speaking on the occasion, representatives of Khidmat Foundation said marriage marks an important beginning in family life and that financial constraints should not become an obstacle for deserving families. They emphasised the Foundation’s commitment to extending assistance with dignity and respect while promoting community support and collective responsibility.
The speakers also stressed the importance of keeping marriages simple and avoiding unnecessary and extravagant expenditure. They urged members of society, particularly philanthropists, well-wishers and community organisations, to come forward and support families in need.
Khidmat Foundation Baramulla, a non-political social welfare organisation, has been undertaking various humanitarian initiatives, including educational assistance, medical support, food and ration distribution, financial aid and other welfare programmes for deserving individuals and families.
The Foundation expressed gratitude to its donors, volunteers, supporters, religious scholars and well-wishers whose contributions made the initiative possible. It said such programmes would continue in the future as part of its broader mission of serving humanity and strengthening the spirit of compassion and social responsibility.
The Chairman of Khidmat Foundation Baramulla said the organisation remained committed to standing with deserving families and extending assistance wherever possible. He appealed to the public to support such humanitarian initiatives to help the Foundation reach more families in need.
