Mubarak Gul reportedly raised questions over cabinet expansion design; Farooq Abdullah issues fresh order

Srinagar, October 30:

In a dramatic political development within the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (NC), party president Dr Farooq Abdullah has reversed the recent decision regarding the appointment of General Secretary, directing Haji Ali Mohammad Sagar to continue in the key position.

The move comes just two days after Mubarak Gul was reportedly nominated as the party’s new General Secretary, triggering speculation over internal developments within the ruling party.

According to political sources, Mubarak Gul had reportedly raised questions over the cabinet expansion design, which is believed to have contributed to the latest organisational development.

In a fresh official order, Dr Farooq Abdullah stated that Haji Ali Mohammad Sagar shall continue to function as General Secretary of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference until further orders.

The sudden reversal has sparked fresh political debate within the party, particularly at a time when the NC is reportedly facing growing dissent following the recent cabinet expansion.

The development has raised questions about internal equations and the decision-making process within the party leadership.
