National Conference (NC) President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah on Friday paid tributes to the veteran journalist and the father figure of the vernacular press in Kashmir, Khwaja Sanaullah Bhat Aftab on his 14th death anniversary.

Dr Farooq Abdullah while paying tributes to the Late Sanaullah Bhat said, “Khwaja Sahib was devoted to objective journalism. A shining star of Kashmir’s journalistic history, Khawaja Sahib’s several contributions made him a highly respectable person and a journalist who invoked awe and fear among the rulers that be. On his 14th death anniversary I offer him my humble tribute. May Almighty elevate his stations in Jannat.”

Offering tributes to Khawaja Sahib, Omar as per a statement issued here said, “A leading luminary of our journalistic history, a trendsetter Marhoom Khawaja Sanaullah Bhat Aftab Sahib’s contribution in the promotion of Urdu journalism in Kashmir is unparalleled. For half a century, he dominated the journalistic horizon in Kashmir and would be remembered as the most significant chapter of the history of journalism in Kashmir. On his 14th death anniversary offer him my rich tributes. May Allah (SWT) elevate his stations in Jannat.”.
