Dereliction of Duty Won’t be Tolerated, Strict Legal Action Shall Follow: Mohammad Ahsan

As a move to strengthen the accountability mechanism and to curb the absenteeism of govt employees, Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Mohammad Ahsan Mir accompanied by a team of other officers today conducted surprise inspection of several govt offices during which over a dozen of officials were unauthorizedly absent from their duties.

The inspection was conducted upon the directions of Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Bhupinder Kumar which aimed to check the punctuality of govt functionaries for enhancing the quality of public service delivery.

The offices which were inspected include R&B, Social Welfare, Agriculture, Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Education, ACD Office, BDO Office Baramulla among other offices.

Taking a strong note of this unauthorised absence, the ADC said that any kind of dereliction won’t be tolerated in the larger public interest. He added that surprise inspections of govt offices shall be conducted on routine basis and anyone found unauthorisedly absent shall be viewed seriously.
