Srinagar, November 20 :

Amid Covid-19 SOPs and guidelines, the class 10 annual examination 2021, being conducted by the J&K Board of School Education (BOSE), commenced across the Kashmir valley from Saturday.

As per details available with Kashmir News Service (KNS), around 74000 students have registered for the examination for which the BOSE has set up 739 examination centres in government and private schools across Kashmir.

An official said that as per Covid-19 guidelines and SOPs issued by the State Executive Committee, the board has made separate arrangements for the parents during exam days.

The state executive committee had earlier ordered that students appearing in class 10th and 12th annual examination should carry parents’ consent along on each day of their examinations.

The official said that like last year, the number of examination centres has been increased to ensure proper distance is maintained between the examinees in the examination halls.

“Only 50 percent seating capacity will be occupied in one exam hall in order to maintain proper distance in view of the Covid-19 pandemic and guidelines issued by authorities from time to time,” he said.

Notably, students appearing in class 10th and 12th annual examination have been given 30 per cent relaxation in syllabus by the Board, in view of Covid-19 pandemic.

As per BOSE notification, the students have to attempt 70 per cent marks from the question paper which will be treated as 100 per cent for result computation. (KNS)
