Bomb disposal squad diffused the IED

Baramulla, October 21: Army claimed to have averted a major tragedy after Army’s 32 RR recovered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) from passenger shed near Saidpora village in Rafiabad of North Kashmir’s Baramulla on Thursday.
An official said, “An IED planted by militants near Saidpora village was recovered and the bomb disposal squad was rushed to the spot to defuse the IED.
“The timely action by the alert security forces has helped in averting a major tragedy as the the passenger shed is often used by security forces for security purposes,” claimed the Army official.
Sources said that intelligence branch of BSF sector Baramulla had already given advance inputs regarding this on 1 0ctober.
It is pertinent to mention that Militants have been planting IEDs on roads and highways to target passing vehicles of the security forces in Kashmir and to thwart the militant designs, parties of security forces assisted by sniffer dogs and electronic equipment move out first to secure roads and highways and these trained parties of the security forces are known as road opening parties (ROPs)
