MLA Uri Dr Sajad Shafi Uri attends the camp, appreciates efforts of the administration in reaching remote tribal areas

BARAMULLA/URI , JUNE ,16 :

As part of the ongoing Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign under the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA), district administration Baramulla organized a tribal awareness camp at the border village of Churanda in Uri Tehsil.
The campaign, scheduled from June 15 to 30, focuses on spreading awareness among tribal communities and ensuring saturation of key welfare schemes.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from the local tribal population. Various departments had set up IEC stalls offering on-the-spot information and services related to health, education, livelihood, and sanitation.
To draw public attention and promote cultural heritage, a traditional Gatka performance was held during the camp. The energetic display captivated the audience and created a vibrant atmosphere.
Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Uri, Dr. Sajad Shafi, attended the camp and appreciated the efforts of the administration in reaching remote tribal areas. He emphasized the importance of grassroots-level awareness for inclusive growth and development.
Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Baramulla, Gh. Rasool Mir, highlighted the objectives of DAJGUA and encouraged tribal families to take full advantage of the schemes available under the campaign.
Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Baramulla, Chaudhary Mudasir Hussain, also spoke on the occasion, urging the public to actively participate in awareness programmes and assured continued support from the administration.
Other senior officers from various departments were also present and interacted with the locals.
The ongoing IEC campaign under DAJGUA will continue in other tribal areas of the district, aiming to ensure last-mile service delivery and tribal empowerment.
