Visits slain cop’s residence in Dangerpora Sopore, expressed heartfelt condolences and solidarity with family

Sopore, Dec 11: The Director General of Police (DGP), Dilbagh Singh flanked by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Vijay Kumar visited family of slain cop who was killed in Bandipora to express their condolences and solidarity with bereaved family at Dangerpora Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Speaking to media persons outside the residence of the cop said that yesterday’s attack on Pesos is clear indication of frustrations of  militants as they don’t want to see peaceful atmosphere in Jammu and Kashmir.
“They are looking for soft targets in order to create disturbance, however, every attempt of anti-national elements to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere in the UT  would be firmly dealt with iron fist,” he added.
DGP said that such attacks won’t deter police and other security forces from counter insurgency operation and police along with other security agencies will continue their anti-militancy  operation in the valley.” We have got some initial clues and leads regarding the attackers soon they will taken to task,” he added.
About the number militants and OGWs active in north Kashmir, he said number of militants is less than what it used to be in the past. 
” There is no such huge number of militants in North Kashmir but some recent infiltration has increased the number of foreign militants but we are tracking them  and some have already been neutralised,” he informed.
The DGP consoled the family and expressed his solidarity with the bereaved family, while praying for the eternal peace to the departed soul.
He assured that every support would be provided to the family of the cop.DIG North Kashmir, SP Sopore and other senior police officers of the district also attended the conference meeting at slain cops house.
Pertinently, two cops Senior Grade Constable Muhammad Sultan Dar (driver), a resident of Dangerpora Sopore and Constable Fayaz Ahmad Lone of Lalpora Lolab, Kupwara were killed in a militant attack in Gulshan chowk area of Bandipora on Friday evening.
