Bandipora, Jul 16 :

The Jammu and Kashmir Police in Bandipora have suspected ‘overuse of drug’ to be the likely cause of death of a youth from Bagh Bandipora – whose body was found near Gamroo Gund Qaisar Bridge Thursday last. The Police said it also has made an arrest in the instant case.

“Preliminary investigations suggest that the cause of death was a drug overdose”, said a Police spokesperson as per GNS adding “A formal case stands registered under sections 304 and 201 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).”

“One individual by the name Qaisar Aejaz Waza, son of Aejaz Ahmad Waza from Bagh Bandipora who has been alleged of providing the victim with the drug (overdose) and later on disposing of the body, has also been arrested in the instant case”, he said.

The investigation into the case is ongoing as the police work towards identifying any additional individuals involved and to collect further evidence. (GNS)
