Srinagar, Nov 19 :
Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association on Friday appreciated the public response to the peaceful protest strike against the civilian killings in Kashmir especially against the killing of three civilians in Hyderpora encounter on Monday evening.
In a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Bar said that the magisterial probe ordered by the LG Manoj Sinha is no answer as it requires a judicial enquiry by a sitting high court judge of the High Court to bring the culprits to justice and face the canons of law.
“This is not only a demand by the JKCBA but a public demand which sounds just and reasonable demand. Right to life and liberty under Article 21 of the constitution of India is a pillar stone in constitutional scheme and no person can be deprived of his life and liberty except in due course of law,” the statement reads.
It reads that Hyderpora killings are extrajudicial killings by all imaginations and stretches of law
Bar reiterated its solidarity with the victim families in their fight for justice within the parameters of law and norms of democracy. (KNS)
