Baramulla, Oct 4:With deep admiration and heartfelt gratitude, the people of Baramulla bid farewell to Dr. Charanjeet Singh, a noble and humble physician whose simplicity, saintly treatment, and expert medical care have touched thousands of lives over the decades.
Known for his calm demeanour, gentle words, and reassuring smile, Dr. Singh has long been a symbol of humanity in the medical fraternity of north Kashmir. His practice was never just about prescriptions or procedures — it was about understanding pain, offering empathy, and healing with both science and soul.For generations of patients, he was not only a doctor but a guide, a friend, and a guardian of hope.
His consultation room in GMC Baramulla became a place where care transcended routine, and every patient was treated with dignity and compassion.Dr. Singh’s intelligence and dedication were matched only by his humility.
Colleagues describe him as a “true gentleman of medicine” — a professional who remained grounded despite his immense expertise and reputation.
“Dr. Charanjeet never treated patients as numbers or cases; he treated them as family,” said one of his long-time associates Dr. Gavinder Jit Singh a renowned Pediatrician.
“His kindness and integrity set him apart in an age where compassion often takes a backseat to technology, ” he added.
“Retirement is a part of a government servant’s life, but a doctor never really retires. We are hopeful that Dr. Charanjeet will continue to serve the people of Baramulla in his private capacity,” writes Shams Manknoo, a noted social activist of Baramulla, in a heartfelt note.
