BARAMULLA ,MAY,05 :

Baramulla Civil Society held its meeting under the leadership of Er Tariq Mughloo on Thursday in which the closure of Saint Jospeh’s school by the school administration was discussed and termed this decision anti student.

The extension of school holidays by adminstration due to teachers strike exposes the seriousness of the current school administration who are only after miniting more and more money from the parents.

On the occasion Mughloo said that due to Covid19, the students have already lost three years of schooling and now this new decision not to open school after Eid holidaya has again put the education of students at stake. Mughloo sought the intervention of J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and senior officers of education department towards this issue which is concerned about the future of 2000 students who come from different parts of north Kashmir to this school for education. Mughloo termed the demands of teachers genuine who are being paying peanuts despite high qualification and putting hard efforts.

Mughloo said  the teachers in the school are drawing monthly salaries which less than what non skilled salesmen employed at various shops in Baramulla earn.

Mughloo said that though this institution in the past has done great service in the education sector but now this institution is being run on commerical lines and money earned through the parents is being spent on some other purposes which is very much astonishing. Mughloo said the lack of current administration is ruining all the good work of this school done in the past decades. The Civil Society said that due its good work more than 200 kanals of prime land in the heart of city was given to school free to run the school for welfare of people of Baramulla but unfortunately this institution has become more a commercial centre that a welfare education institution. Mughloo said thar if administration fails to open the school in couple of days then parents have no other option but to hold protest against the incompetent administration of the school. The Civil Society once again asked the school administration to open the school at an earliest.
