Baramulla, 06 January 2026:
Baramulla Police, in coordination with the Geology & Mining Department, Baramulla, conducted a joint raid at Stadium Colony, Janbazpora, during which a quantity of illegally dumped clay sand was seized.
The operation was carried out by Police Post Old Town as part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal mining and unauthorized extraction of minor minerals. Necessary legal action under the provisions of the MMDR Act has been initiated against the violators as per law.
Baramulla Police reiterates its commitment to take strict and sustained action against illegal mining activities and urges the public to cooperate by reporting such violations to the nearest police unit.
