Baramulla, 18 December 2025

Continuing its people-centric policing efforts, Baramulla Police organised community outreach programmes at 30 locations across the district, including Thindma, Kawchak, Dandi Payeen, Saterseran, Hajiveera Bala, Nehalpora, Guiwa, Newran, Khan Mohalla, Margripora, Chenabal, Dhani Syeda, Dudran, Zamboor Pattan, Banali, Kathil A & B, Barjala, Dardkote, Hardichloo, Zeran, Ferozpora, Gokhama, Mohrawali, Kanthbagh, Singhbagh, Namblan, Fatehpora, Ganie Hamam, Qalampora and Gutlipora.

The programmes were supervised by concerned jurisdictional officers and saw enthusiastic participation from local residents. During the interactions, the public shared various civic and policing-related concerns, which were patiently heard and assurances were given for their prompt and appropriate resolution.

Police officers also sensitised participants about the newly enacted criminal laws — BNS, BNSS and BSA — highlighting their salient features to promote legal awareness at the grassroots level. Emphasis was laid on collective efforts to sustain peace, curb drug abuse and assist police in identifying anti-social activities.

The outreach initiative was well received by the community and underlined Baramulla Police’s continued focus on strengthening police-public relations through open dialogue and sustained engagement.
