In a step towards enhancing security and promoting community-oriented policing, Baramulla Police today launched a beta version of an app designed to provide citizens with quick access to emergency police response.
The launch event was held at District Police Lines (DPL) Baramulla and was graced by DC Baramulla, Sh Minga Sherpa (IAS), SSP Baramulla, senior officers from police and civil administration, media, and prominent citizens of Baramulla.
The app aims to strengthen security response to vulnerable groups across the district by leveraging technology for prompt response and effective assistance.
The app enables users to raise SOS alerts, suspicious activities, or seek immediate assistance with just one click, ensuring faster coordination between citizens and police. It also includes features such as location tracking to facilitate timely response.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Baramulla emphasized the JKP’s commitment to adopting innovative technology to enhance citizen safety and strengthen police-community relations.
He urged the target groups to actively use the app to make Baramulla a safer place.
DC Baramulla, while appreciating the initiative, lauded the efforts of Baramulla Police for introducing a people-friendly technological intervention in a venerable and strategically significant district like Baramulla. He highlighted that such initiatives will not only improve emergency response mechanisms but also foster greater public trust and participation in policing.
The event concluded with a demonstration of the app’s key features, followed by an interactive session with media representatives and participants.
