BARAMULLA, APRIL 08 :
In its continued commitment to combat the growing menace of drug abuse, Baramulla Police organized a series of Drug De-addiction Awareness Programs across various educational institutions under the banner of Nasha Mukht Abhiyan - "Say No to Drugs, Yes to Life." The initiative took place at Govt Degree Colleges in Baramulla, Uri and Tangmarg with the aim to educate students and faculty members about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to promote a drug-free lifestyle.
The awareness programs were conducted under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Baramulla, Shri Altaf Ahmad Khan-JKPS, SDPO Uri, Shri Tariq Ahmad-JKPS, and SDPO Tangmarg, Shri Faizan Ali-JKPS. They were accompanied by senior police officers, including, SHO PS Uri, Insp. Mudasir Ahmad, SHO PS Tangmarg, Insp. Sheikh Gowhar.
During the sessions, the officers addressed the students and staff, stressing the detrimental effects of drug addiction and the importance of community involvement in the fight against this issue. The speakers emphasized the critical role of responsible citizenship in curbing the drug abuse crisis and encouraged attendees to become proactive agents of change within their communities.
Baramulla Police remains steadfast in its mission to eradicate drug addiction and safeguard the future of the younger generation. The department continues to work tirelessly through a series of ongoing awareness campaigns to promote healthy lifestyles and deter drug abuse across the district.
The program concluded with a pledge by the participants to actively support the cause of a drug-free society and to spread awareness on the ill effects of drug abuse in their respective communities.
