As part of Public outreach programme, Thana Diwas; an initiative of Government of J&K, was organized by Police at Police Post Mirgund.
The Programme at Police Post Mirgund was chaired by Sh. Rayees Mohammad Bhat-IPS, SSP Baramulla alongwith Sh. Mohammad Nawaz Khanday-JKPS, SDPO Pattan, Inspr. Nisar Ahmad, SHO PS Pattan and Inspr. Mohd Shafi, IC PP Mirgund and other staff of sub division Pattan.
Similarly, the Programme at Police Station Kreeri was also chaired by Sh. Rayees Mohammad Bhat-IPS, SSP Baramulla alongwith Sh. Khalid Ashraf- JKPS, SDPO Kreeri, Inspr. Mohd Arif, SHO PS Kreeri and SI Irshad Ahmad, IC PP Wagoora and other staff of sub division Kreeri.
The programme at Police Station Sheeri was chaired by Sh. R K Parihar-JKPS, Addl. SP Baramulla alongwith Sh. Sajjad Bukhari- JKPS, DySP Hqrs Baramulla, and Inspr. Waseem Jahangir, SHO PS Sheeri and other staff of Police Station Sheeri.
The programme at Police Post Delina was chaired by Sh. Sajjad Bukhari- JKPS, DySP Hqrs Baramulla alongwith Inspr. Showkat Ahmad, SHO PS Baramulla and SI Showkat Ahmad, IC PP Delina and other staff of Police Station Baramulla/ Police Post Delina.
The meeting was attended by the respectable citizens of surrounding areas of Kreeri, Sheeri, Delina & Mirgund including respectable Citizens, members of Auqaf Committees, Numberdars, Chowkidars and Traders Federation.
On the occasion, participants highlighted various issues of public importance, and they were assured that their genuine grievances pertaining to Police will be resolved on priority and that of civil administration will be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal. While speaking on the occasion, it was reiterated that policing at grassroot level in the district would be revamped to enhance proficiencies of the cops and to develop confidence among the people.
Chairing officer while speaking on the occasion, said that Thana Diwas is an initiative started by the Government of J&K to bridge the gap between Police and Public and also to hear and redress the grievances of common masses and further added that Community policing is mandatory to boost public confidence which would help in fighting against crime and social evils.
Referring to the criminal activities in the area, it was stressed upon the officers to brace up with a missionary spirit to fight against drug abuse and eradicate other social evils from the society and to take a pledge to serve the society with missionary spirit and maintain the dignity of force.
