BARAMULLA, APRIL,06 :
In the meeting which was held in the office chambers of GMC principal, the delegation was apprised about the problems which doctors and administration face at the GMC which is seeing large rush of patients and attendants on the daily basis. Principal GMC said that though hospital is ready to establish 24×7 ICU, however the biggest impediment is shortage of staff and several times problems of staff shortage has been brought into notice of senior officers but of no avail.
The Principal also conveyed the delegation that the hospital doesn’t have dedicated cardiologist, nephrologist and with the retirement of senior doctor even orthopedic department could face problems. The principal also apprised the delegation about the steps which are being taken to improve sanitation and drainage system in the hospital. The delegation appealed the government to help the Principal GMC in redressal of the hospital which is one of the vital institutions of north Kashmir. The delegation also urged J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah to make efforts so that adjacent land of Industrial estate is being given to hospital for its further expansion. At the conclusion of this meeting delegation extended full support to the administration of GMC in making this institutions at par with other reputed medical facilities of the country.
