BARAMULLA, JANUARY 04 :

A meeting of civil society members Baramulla was held under the chairmanship of Er Tariq Mughloo in which several issues pertaining to town came up for the discussion.

In the meeting Civil Society Baramulla expressed strong concern on the behaviour of Municipal Council targetting the street vendors of the town. Though the clerance drive on roads and streets of town Baramulla is necessary but at the same time officials need to use polite means  towards the street vendors while clearing the roads from any sort of encroachments.

During this meeting members condenmed the unruly behaviour of the MC employees and the way they used excessive force against vendors is condenamble.

The members asked the district administration to compensate street vendors who mostly live in the poverity and  sought strong  action against erring employees who were responsible for damaging goods of these street vendors.
