A high level delegation of Traders Federation Baramulla on Saturday held a detailed discussion with Director Local Bodies Madam Mathoora Masoom on the issues pertaining to Baramulla town at her Srinagar office. The meeting besides Director Local Bodies was attended by general secretary Federation, Er Tariq Ahmad Mughloo, chairman, Ishfaq Ahmad Qazi and vice chairman, Javeed Ahmad Soleah. The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere and Director Local Bodies gave patient hearing towards the problems faced by inhabitants of Baramulla and its adjacent localities. In the meeting delegation brought several burning issues of town in the notice of director, especially the absence of a slaughter house which despite construction of a building on the outskirts of the town is lying idle. The officer was also apprised about the absence of parking spaces in the town which has led blocking of roads in the town on the daily basis. The delegation also highlighted the issue of Waste Management Disposal plant for Baramulla town. Director Local Bodies told the delegation that DPR of the project is in final stages and solid waste management plant could be reality in coming months. The rehabilitation of street vendors was also taken up with the officer. The delegation informed the officer about issues of street lights and its regular maintenence due to which these lights turn defunct after few months. The Director assured the delegation that contract for installation of lights and service maintenence for period of five years with a reputed company will resolve this issue. At the end of the meeting Er Tariq expressed thanks to Director on behalf of people of town for taking keen interest in the development of urban areas of the historical town.
