Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum has greeted Omar Abdullah, Chief Minister of J&K and his cabinet for taking the reins of JK Govt, recently after the UT went through polls after a deadlock of ten long years.
Society has wished the new govt in J&K as a goodwill for prosperity as to strategise its plans to meet the expectations of the people comprising all sections who gave it the vast mandate to represent them at the highest state level seat of legislation .
In a statement issued here Chairman JKCSF, JKPUF and veteran former trade union leader, Abdul Qayoom Wani has urged the new govt to prioritize govermental issues right from the day one as per the aspirations of the people viz unemployed youth, parents/wards of political prisoners (especially elderly women prisoners,) widows, pensioners, employees, businessmen, entrepreunuers, labors, fruit growers, fishermen, mining, people related with tourism industry, handloom artisans, senior citizens and above all the common man who have elected them as representatives by the democratic way.
People of Jammu and Kashmir have diverse political and developmental aspirations ranging from the political rights which J and K possessed earlier as a state to the developmental prospects viz possession, upgradation and progressive- exploitation of resources of J&K with power projects aspect, the prime example.
JKCSF has urged the new govt with Omar Abdullah as the Chief Minister to respect the mandate of the people by continued struggle and start work immediately for fulfilling the promises on ground as a movement with untiring efforts by exploring ways and means through the legislative process,
” The govt has to go through a long long struggle to fulfil the promises which it as a political party/parties has made in the election manifesto which indeed was the reciprocal of aspirations of people of Jammu and Kashmir. Politically J&K has to be given the status it possessed under the constitution of the country earlier. Simultaneously the development of J&K is inevitable, the major areas remain, construction of new power projects, untapping of new tourist destinations and developing infrastructure of global need at established tourist destinations, good market for apple industry, safeguarding of water and land resources, safeguarding of job opportunities exclusively for youth, addressing the issues of employees, pensioners, senior citizens, widows, handicapped, students of J&K and last but not the least release of political prisoners” the statement said.
Society has greeted the CM Omar Abdulla, the cabinet ministers and the members of the legislative assembly for taking oath as to take the reins of govt.
JKCSF and.JKPUF has appealed the govt to remain always available to hear and adress the public grievances.
Society has hoped that govt will focus on the social issues eating up the fabric of society viz drug abuse and moral degradation which is a stain on Kashmir Society famous for eversince simplicity and sanctity and modesty.
JKCSF and JKPUF also urges the new govt to focus on the incorporation of moral education in school curriculum.
Society has hoped for progress and prosperity of both the regions of the erstwhile state of J&K and prayed for peace and harmony. Wani assured full support to the new govt in resolving genuine, political, developmental,and social concerns of people of Jammu and Kashmir. Wani said that civil society forum and pensioners United front leaders have raised the social, political concerns of people of j and k in difficult situations will continue to raise the voice of people and will work as Torch bearers of the society.
