SRINAGAR, JUNE ,24 :

Reacting to the govt order of closure of private schools having possession of state land and kahcharai, Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum has termed the order of closing as equal as to close the future of the children who are on rolls of these schools.
Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum Abdul Qayoom Wani in a statement issued here on Friday said that the order of closing the private schools that have state land or kahchari in possession is a hasty decision that can be detrimentally harmful to the career of the school children who have a right to education and had are being punished for their no fault as they are on rolls in private schools that bear govt registrations since years.
Forum statement said that if at all govt is to investigate the land possessions and the kinds of land in the possession of schools therein, it could be done by alternate ways.
The state land and kahcharai land is not in possession of private educational institutions only but by a vast variety of others too where govt has dealt with the parties by means of lease such as in case of hotels etc.
” School means an institution imparting education and closing a school means simply to close the doors of education” the statement said.
The govts alternative for children to shift them to nearby govt schools is by no way a viable alternative for the career of thousands of children because govt schools are already burdened and are yet to get infrastructure for already enrolled students in govt schools. admitting new students in govt schools will mean to destroy the future of both sides. Besides the private sector of education in Jammu and Kashmir will get collapsed.
Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum has strongly pleaded for the resolution of the issue by alternate means via lease, exchange of lands.
