Srinagar, Dec 6 :

In light of the challenges faced by aspirants appearing in the Jammu and Kashmir Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination 2025, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has formally written to the J&K Public Service Commission (JKPSC), urging it to consider postponing the exam by a reasonable duration.

According to the communication accessed by news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, the Chief Minister highlighted the “extraordinary situation” created by severe airline disruptions that have thrown travel plans of aspirants into disarray. He noted that many candidates are struggling to reach their designated exam centres due to widespread flight delays and cancellations.

Omar Abdullah further pointed out that the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the proposal for age relaxation an enabling provision previously granted multiple times has compounded the stress on candidates. The delay in finalising the decision, he said, has left aspirants anxious about their eligibility just days before the examination.

“In view of these circumstances, and keeping in mind fairness, equity and equal opportunity for all, I urge the Commission to take cognizance of the situation and consider postponing the forthcoming examination,” the Chief Minister stated in his letter addressed to the JKPSC Chairman.

Expressing confidence in the Commission, he added that he is hopeful JKPSC will take a compassionate and balanced decision in the larger public interest. (KNC)
