The Court of Passenger Tax, Jammu, has directed SSP Crime Jammu to register FIR and investigate into alleged use of forged documents by an Assistant Professor in Higher Education Department during his selection by Jammu Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC). The said Assistant Professor in Geography, namely Mohd Qasim Mir, was recruited by JKPSC through recruitment process vide notification number 10-PSC(DR-P) of 2017, dated 27-10-2017.

While disposing off an application by complainant Ajay Kumar of Rajouri through Advocate Shivam Gupta and Advocate Raghav Sawhney, Special Mobile Magistrate Passenger Tax Jammu Munish K Manhas observed that the Crime Branch, in its inquiry, has also submitted that Mohd Qasim Mir manipulated/inserted/forged documents but no FIR was registered against the accused till date.

“Since as per the contents of the application as also the findings of the Crime Branch Jammu, commission of cognizable offence are made out, as such SSP/SHO crime Branch Jammu is directed to register FIR and investigate the matter in accordance with law forthwith,” ordered the Magistrate.

As per the complaint filed by Ajay Kumar, who was also a candidate for the post of Assistant Professor, accused Mohd Qasim Mir managed his selection by submitting some forged documents/certificates which were obtained illegally by him in collusion with the issuing authorities. The forgery came into applicant’s notice after he filed RTIs in this regard.(ET)
