Now More Focus Being Laid on COVID Prevention by Enhancing Futuristic Capabilities: says Bhupinder Kumar

Baramulla, June 17: Briefing about the latest position of COVID-19 pandemic and the required measures taken by the administration, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Bhupinder Kumar today informed that positivity rate in the district has dropped to mere 3% whereas recovery rate gets enhanced to 95%. He said that this is a remarkable performance recorded by the district which could become possible through the hardwork and dedication with which our frontline workers launched a battle against the pandemic.

The DC also expressed gratitude of the people who showed their active cooperation by abiding to related SOPs and guidelines pertaining to the pandemic. He hoped that the people will further cooperate with the administrative functionaries while carrying out the mass vaccination campaign that has been launched to get rid from the virus.

Informing about the slew of the measures taken to control the spread of virus, DC said that our focus will now remain on disease prevention by augmenting futuristic capabilities. He said that Oxygen capacity is being enhanced throughout the district and recently 1000 LPM Oxygen plant has been commissioned in GMC Baramulla.

The DC further added that various initiatives have been taken to fully equip our health institutions more especially from oxygen bed availability perspective so as to tackle any kind of future exigencies. He said that 03 Oxygen plants in Tangmarg, Uri and Kreeri were approved and the work on them is going on with accelerated pace.

Bhupinder Kumar further added that various capacity building programmes are being conducted for our health workers which will help to upgrade their service delivery skills.
