Srinagar reports 303 positive cases; Case tally at 297, 602, death toll mounts to 4,026, active cases increase to 29,615, recovery rate at 88.69 percent

SRINAGAR,, JUNE 04 :

The Jammu and Kashmir Union territory on Friday witnessed 34 deaths due to Covid-19 while as 1,723 fresh positive cases were also reported, taking the number of total active cases in the UT to 29,615

With 34 more deaths the death toll in the UT has reached 4,026 and 1,723 fresh positive cases reported on Friday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 297,602.

Of the exact number of 297,602 cases, 183,504 are from Kashmir division and 114,098 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 1,723 new cases, 1,124 belong to Kashmir division while as 599 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 183,504 including 162,435 recoveries and 2,066 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 114,098 including 101,526 recoveries and 1,960 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 29,615 including 19,003 from Kashmir division and 10,612 from Jammu division.

With 2,731 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 263,961 which is 88.69 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 303 from Srinagar, 177 from Baramulla, 128 from Budgam, 138 from Pulwama, 111 from Kupwara, 72 from Anantnag, 48 from Bandipora, 37 from Ganderbal, 88 from Kulgam and 22 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 599 from Jammu division include 165 from Jammu, 53 from Udhampur, 73 from Rajouri, 48 from Doda, 22 from Kathua, 25 from Samba, 31 from Kishtwar, 95 from Poonch, 75 from Ramban and 12 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Out of 34 deaths reported today, 03 died in GMC Jammu, 02 in GMC Doda, 02 in GMC Kathua, 02 in MH Satwari, 01 in SMVDNH Katra, 01 in CH Udhampur, 02 in Home/ Brought Dead, 06 in SMHS Sgr, 02 in SKIMS JVC Bemina, 02 in SKIMS Soura, 01 in JLNM Srinagar, 01 in DH Ganderbal, 02 in DH Bandipora, 05 in GMC Anantnag & 02 in DH Kulgam.

As per officials figures, 66,419 positive cases including 792 deaths and 61,933 recoveries are from Srinagar, 21,915 including 261 deaths and 19,222 recoveries are from Baramulla, 20,876 including 18,992 recoveries and 188 deaths are from Budgam, 13,680 including 11,415 recoveries and 172 deaths are from Pulwama, 12,505 including 148 deaths and 10,924 recoveries are from Kupwara, 14,913 including 11,329 recoveries and 175 deaths are from Anantnag, 8,651 cases including 7,747 and 96 deaths are from Bandipora, 8,962 including 7,865 recoveries and 70 deaths are from Ganderbal, 10,188 including 8,651 recoveries and 108 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,395 including 4,257 recoveries and 56 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 51,380 including 45,704 recoveries and 1,090 deaths are from Jammu district, 10,776 including 1,0149 recoveries and 128 deaths are from Udhampur, 9,982 including 8,869 recoveries and 189 deaths are from Rajouri, 5,951 including 4,815 recoveries and 92 deaths are from Doda, 8,898 including 8,434 recoveries and 140 deaths are from Kathua, 6,857 including 5,809 recoveries and 113 deaths are from Samba, 4,102 including 3,841 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Kishtwar, 5,479 including 4,453 recoveries and 79 deaths are from Poonch, 5,307 including 4,485 recoveries and 56 deaths are from Ramban and 5,366 including 4,967 recoveries and 38 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 2,135,558 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 80,993 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 29,615 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 1,875,269 persons have completed the surveillance period and 145,655 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 8,746,810 samples are available. Out of 8,746,810 the number of samples tested negative stands at 8,449,208 while as 297,602 have tested positive, among them 30,657 persons are active, 263,961 persons have recovered and 4,026 persons have died—(KNO)
