Srinagar reports 29 cases, case tally at 323,951, death toll stands at 4,401, active cases reaches to 1,141, recovery rate at 98.29 percent
SRINAGAR, AUGUST 20 :
Jammu and Kashmir Friday witnessed one more death and 159 fresh positive cases taking the number of total active cases in the Union Territory to 1,141.
With one more death, the death toll in the UT has reached to 4,401 and 159 fresh positive cases reported on Friday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 323,951.
Of the exact number of 323,951 cases, 201,272 are from Kashmir division and 122,679 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 159 new cases, 123 belong to Kashmir division while as 36 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 201,272 including 198,316 recoveries and 2,240 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 122,679 including 120,093 recoveries and 2,161 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,141 including 716 from Kashmir division and 425 from Jammu division.
With 126 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 318,409 which is 98.29 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 29 from Srinagar, 08 from Baramulla, 04 from Budgam, 02 from Pulwama, 14 from Kupwara, 25 from Anantnag, 11 from Bandipora, 08 from Ganderbal, 22 from Kulgam and 00 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 36 from Jammu division include 10 from Jammu, 01 from Udhampur, 06 from Rajouri, 14 from Doda, 00 from Kathua, 01 from Samba, 01 from Kishtwar, 02 from Poonch, 01 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Meanwhile, authorities on Friday said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and tally stands at 43.
One covid positive patient died at GMC Rajouri.
As per officials figures, 71,923 positive cases including 834 deaths and 70,834 recoveries are from Srinagar, 23,794 including 282 deaths and 23,440 recoveries are from Baramulla, 23,050 including 22,781 recoveries and 206 deaths are from Budgam, 15,274 including 15,051 recoveries and 194 deaths are from Pulwama, 14,192 including 166 deaths and 13,979 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,414 including 16,155 recoveries and 205 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,586 cases including 9,430 and 100 deaths are from Bandipora, 10,058 including 9,912 recoveries and 78 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,389 including 11,205 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,592 including 5,529 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 52,947 including 51,698 recoveries and 1,142 deaths are from Jammu district, 11,374 including 11,212 recoveries and 137 deaths are from Udhampur, 11,060 including 10,771 recoveries and 231 deaths are from Rajouri, 7,454 including 7,259 recoveries and 129 deaths are from Doda, 9,275 including 9,120 recoveries and 151 deaths are from Kathua, 7,133 including 7,007 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Samba, 4,722 including 4,646 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Kishtwar, 6,302 including 6,179 recoveries and 97 deaths are from Poonch, 5,984 including 5,909 recoveries and 67 deaths are from Ramban and 6,428 including 6,292 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 3,108,370 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 8,692 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,141 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 2,678,044 persons have completed the surveillance period and 416,092 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 12,812,781 samples are available. Out of 12,812,781 the number of samples tested negative stands at 12,488,830 while as 323,951 have tested positive, among them 1,141 persons are active, 318,409 persons have recovered and 4,401 persons have died—(KNO)
