Srinagar reports 18 cases, case tally at 321,725, death toll stands at 4,381, active cases reaches to 1,254, recovery rate at 98.25 percent

SRINAGAR, August 02 :

The Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory on Monday recorded two deaths and 118 fresh positive cases, taking the number of total active cases in the UT to 1,181.

With two more deaths the death toll in the UT has reached 4,381 and 118 fresh positive cases reported on Monday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 321,725.

Of the exact number of 321,715 cases, 199,848 are from Kashmir division and 121,877 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 118 new cases, 46 belong to Kashmir division while as 72 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 199,848 including 196,848 recoveries and 2,237 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 121,877 including 119,242 recoveries and 2,144 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,254 including 763 from Kashmir division and 491 from Jammu division.

With 73 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 316,090 which is 98.25 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 18 from Srinagar, 11 from Baramulla, 08 from Budgam, 01 from Pulwama, 02 from Kupwara, 00 from Anantnag, 00 from Bandipora, 04from Ganderbal, 02 from Kulgam and 00 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 72 from Jammu division include 05 from Jammu, 01 from Udhampur, 06 from Rajouri, 15 from Doda, 00 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 03 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 42 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Meanwhile, authorities on Monday said that no fresh case of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and tally stands at 35.

As per officials figures, 71,439 positive cases including 833 deaths and 70,298 recoveries are from Srinagar, 23,661 including 282 deaths and 23,238 recoveries are from Baramulla, 22,912 including 22,631 recoveries and 205 deaths are from Budgam, 15,192 including 14,948 recoveries and 194 deaths are from Pulwama, 14,071 including 165 deaths and 13,879 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,328 including 16,084 recoveries and 205 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,470 cases including 9,357 and 100 deaths are from Bandipora, 9,924 including 9,782 recoveries and 78 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,267 including 11,114 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,584 including 5,517 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 52,782 including 51,541 recoveries and 1,139 deaths are from Jammu district, 11,300 including 11,134 recoveries and 136 deaths are from Udhampur, 10,938 including 10,664 recoveries and 225 deaths are from Rajouri, 7,280 including 7,043 recoveries and 125 deaths are from Doda, 9,263 including 9,106 recoveries and 151 deaths are from Kathua, 7,123 including 7,001 recoveries and 119 deaths are from Samba, 4,648 including 4,570 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Kishtwar, 6,265 including 6,139 recoveries and 96 deaths are from Poonch, 5,967 including 5,877 recoveries and 66 deaths are from Ramban and 6,311 including 6,167 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 2,875,717 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 7,348 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,254 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 2,509,436 persons have completed the surveillance period and 353,298 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 11,827,953 samples are available. Out of 11,827,953 the number of samples tested negative stands at 11,506,228 while as 321,725 have tested positive, among them 1,254 persons are active, 316,090 persons have recovered and 4,381 persons have died—(KNO)
