‘Srinagar registers spike of 235 cases’ and 165 Baramulla

Jammu and Kashmir Wednesday reported 739 fresh cases of Covid-19, pushing the number of active cases to 4,846 while no more death was reported in the UT in the last 24 hours and death toll stands at 4,773.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 739 new cases, 543 belong to Kashmir division while as 196 to Jammu division.
He said that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir have reached to 294,692 including 288,962 recoveries and 2,429 deaths, while total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 171,951 including 167,968 recoveries and 2,344 deaths.
He further said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 4,940 including 3,301 from Kashmir division and 1,639 from Jammu division.
With 645 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in J&K has reached to 456,285 which is 97.93 percent of the total cases.
“Among the fresh 739 cases today, 235 are from Srinagar, 165 from Baramulla, 57 from Budgam, 03 from Pulwama 28 from Kupwara, 21 from Anantnag, 16 from Bandipora, 05 from Ganderbal, 11 from Kulgam and 02 from Shopian in Kashmir division while 196 are from Jammu division that include 129 from Jammu district, 11 from Udhampur, 13 from Rajouri, 06 from Doda, 06 from Kuthua , 09 from Samba, 12 from Kishtwar, 04 from Poonch, 06 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” said the official.
As per the daily information bulletin 6,698,262 persons in J&K are under observation while 134 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides 4,940 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 6,688,126 persons have completed the surveillance period and 289 persons are under home surveillance besides so far results of 26,168,950 samples are available.
“Out of 26,168,950 the number of samples tested negative stands at 25,702,307 while 466,643 have tested positive, among them 4,940 cases are active, 456,930 have recovered and 4,773 persons have died,” it added—(KNO)
